The Gates Notes
When a certain founder of Microsoft left his role there as co-founder and CEO most people associated him with his foundation and the astonishing efforts he and his wife were making and investing in to make the world better. However, Mr. Gates wanted to have his own voice and a place to share his opinions, ideas and spark intellectual dialogs with the world at large. Up until 2009, this was simply brought forth through the media and not his own agenda. To change that we created The Gates Notes. To this day it continues to be the source of Mr. Gates opinions, ideas and things he wants to share and discuss with the world.
I was lucky to be part of the team that launched The Gates Notes. Our responsibility was to help organize his personal projects and philanthropic missions and theories and package it into thematic and conceptual content areas. We called it a blogumentary and it was filled with education, inspiration, shared brilliance, and captured moments in the life of one of the most influential thinkers and doers of our time.
Ideas like The Curious Classroom were established enabling Mr. Gates to answer questions submitted by classrooms around the world. We got to know what was on his bookshelf and created a venue for him to share his substantially influential reading list.
